RadControls for Silverlight 版本更新 Q1 2010 (更新日期：6/8/2010)

Q1'10 release is focused on strengthening 3 main aspects of RadControls for Silverlight: ensuring first-class performance for all data-centric controls through UI and Data virtualization and other techniques, enhancing and polishing RadControls themes and providing highly advanced, enterprise-level features, especially for the data visualization controls. 

  • RadControls for Silverlight 4
    Natively built RadControls for Silverlight 4 are released shortly after the official release of Microsoft Silverlight 4 at DevConnections 2010 in Las Vegas. A brand new online demo application is also released, built with and showcasing the Telerik Silverlight 4 suite.   • RadTransitionControl CTP
    The control allows you to create transition animations that will appear upon changing the content of the control. It also provides an extended animation framework that can be used to customize the animations of existing controls, such as Menu, ComboBox, Docking, etc., allowing you to provide a richer look-and-feel to your RIA with minimal effort.
  • RadGridView
    RadGridView now provides a built-in paging UI, providing you with a navigation interface to page through your data quickly. The pager control itself can be used as a standalone component in order to provide paged data source to other data-bound controls. You can try the improved virtualized scrolling, which now uses caching of cell’s content for even better performance. Thanks to the UI and Data Virtualization along with content recycling, RadGridView can handle 50 million cells with ease.
  • RadChart
    RadChart introduces advanced Data Virtualization and Data Sampling functionality that allows you to handle and visualize millions of data points in a matter of milliseconds. The control comes with a number of preset sampling functions but you can also specify your own in order to achieve the most accurate chart view for your application. With the new zooming and scrolling feature, your end-users can analyze large amounts of data with greater precision and speed. A new SmartLabels Positioning feature is added to the control to deal with the series item label overlapping in extremely busy charts; also  a new chart type is introduced - Scatter Chart.
  • RadMap
    RadMap is now official and offers multi-touch support for panning and zooming the map view. In addition the control provides a new bird’s eye view for BingMaps, search, routing and geocoding features as well as built-in data binding functionality that allows you to easily overlay any element or shape over the displayed imagery data.
  • RadScheduler
    RadScheduler is another control that introduces UI virtualization with this release. Not only you can work with a large number of appointments without any hits to performance, but you can drag and drop appointments between resource groups.
  • RadTreeView
    The improved UI virtualization of the control now allows you to handle/load millions of nodes in milliseconds.
  • UI Virtualization in other controls
    RadBook and RadCoverflow are two more controls that support UI virtualization, which significantly improves their performance.
  • Enhanced Themes
    All RadControls skins now get a major facelift for greater consistency and appeal across skin elements such as rows, buttons, headers, selected/disabled states, etc. Achieving these results required some changes in the XAML that led to some breaking changes in the themes.  This would affect mostly the users who have already developed custom themes based on our last offering.  We will assist all our customers in the migration process to make sure that everyone is satisfied with the end-result.  
  • Visual Studio 2010 Support
    RadControls for Silverlight provide support for Visual Studio 2010 RC, offering toolbox support, property browsing and WYSIWYG preview for all controls. Telerik is working closely with Microsoft to ensure best practices are followed and that we provide the most complete design experience, allowing you to develop in Visual Studio 2010 and style your controls in Expression Blend with ease.
  • Integration with SharePoint 2010
    You can use RadControls for Silverlight with SharePoint 2010. There are several examples demonstrating various approaches – Scheduler working with the Client Object Model (Calendar list), Grid presenting a custom view and working against BCS External list, Chart representing a live progress from the server. 
  • XAML Optimizations
    Have you been frustrated by how many lines of XAML code it takes in order to create a template for a control?
