JReport Cloud
JReport Cloud can be easily deployed in a Cloud with the support of Amazon EC2, KVM or VMware. JReport Cloud provides the full power of JReport Server including report bursting, page-level security, dashboards, dynamic reporting and analysis and many other features for enhanced usability, and enterprise deployment.
  • High reliability/availability: Automatically run reports via a schedule or on-demand with the full reliability and availability of Amazon EC2. In the rare case of an server failing, EC2 restarts it immediately.
  • High scalability: Increase cluster size dynamically while running, configure new servers and auto-join them to the cluster.
  • Agility: Take advantage of flexible server resources from Amazon and easy to add or remove servers within minutes by monitoring the cluster load. No equipment to purchase, install, and maintain.
  • Cost effective: Optimize resource utilization and only pay for the resources that you use.
  • Local data accessibility: Customers' own data sources can be accessed remotely from JReport Cloud via Cloud Elastic IP service.
JReport for Eclipse (JR4E)
JR4E is a free JReport add-on that provides Eclipse users a convenient platform for developing both applications and reports at the same time. Users can easily design reports via an Eclipse-style interactive user interface.
  • Supported data source types: table, view, query, imported SQL, and stored procedure.
  • Supported component types: banded object, table, crosstab, chart, tabular, label, image, DBField, formula, parameter, summary, drawing object, and special field.
  • Exporting multiple format results: PDF, HTML, Excel, Text, RTF, XML, and PostScript.
  • Link Report: Supports linking report fields, labels, and images to other reports, web pages or email addresses.
  • CSS support: Styles are supported two ways: apply the style directly in toolbar styling options or use the report/component wizard.
  • Parameter support: A dialog for entering parameter values is provided for specifying run time values.
  • Running reports on JReport Enterprise Server: Within the JR4E environment, you can publish reports to a local standalone or integrated JReport Enterprise Server, start and stop the server and run reports on the server.
  • Report result preview: View using HTML, PDF, Excel, Text, RTF, XML, and PostScript. You can also preview report results in the HTML format by using the Preview tab in the report editor.
  • Data browser and query preview: You can view table and view field values and preview data in queries.
  • Viewing report source code: You can view the XML report source code using the Source tab in the report editor.
  • Report wizard: When creating new reports provides a customizable tabular layout, in the wizard multiple components can be easily organized at one time with complex layouts. The report wizard also provides an entry to create formulas and links.
  • Shortcut wizards: Wizards for banded objects, tables, crosstabs, and charts provide an intuitive user interface to create or modify field, group, summary and style for components.
  • Action and formatting toolbar: Provides the functionality for undo/redo, export, alignment, text and CSS formatting etc. for the JReport perspective.
  • Resource editor: Serves as a resource warehouse containing query, formula, parameter, summary, and supports intuitive double-click and drag and drop editing operations.
  • Properties view: Lists the properties and values to format reports and components.
  • Palette view: Displays the components that can be inserted into reports.
  • Outline view: Displays the structure and components in the current report. It provides for easy selection of any object in the report.
  • Dataset manager: Offers an intuitive user interface to define the scope of retrieved data and apply filters to datasets.
  • Preference panel: Used to configure default settings for catalog, component, dataset, editor, and others.

Known Issues

Item Description
1 JReport products can not be installed directly on Windows with 64-bit JDK. Customers can alternatively install on Windows with 32-Bit JDK and then switch to the preferred 64-bit JDK system. For how to switch in detail, please refer to Jinfonet user guide or contact Jinfonet Support.
2 The feature of TOC is not supported with Page-level Security. The TOC tree is not available if the report is defined with Page Level Security.
