Visual Style Builder

Introduced with Telerik’s Q2 release, the Visual Style Builder is a web-based, fully functional CSS customization tool that enables easy, point-and-click customization of skins. In Q3 the Visual Style Builder provides support for all controls from Telerik’s AJAX toolset and makes colorization of any skin element a breeze. The Visual Style Builder provides colorization mode for quick and easy change of the general skin color. In the fine-tune mode, all skin details can be modified, allowing you to adjust text fonts and sizes, margins and paddings, and background to perfectly fit any application.

Visual Studio Extensions

In line with our promise, with Q3 2009 release we are introducing an Automatic Upgrade Wizard to the latest RadControls version. The wizard comes as part of our Visual Studio Extensions Package. When you open a new or existing Telerik project in Visual Studio the wizard automatically checks for the latest available versions and prompts an update. The package also comes with a revamped wizard UI.

The Visual Studio Extension Package was introduced with Telerik’s first release of 2009. The package is an easy, convenient and swift solution to set up an initial Telerik project, convert existing projects to Telerik projects, or upgrade your RadControls projects.

New Skin for all Controls

With Q3 release ASP.NET AJAX toolset ship with a brand new Sitefinity skin for all RadControls. It expands the rich palette of skins and broadens the customization possibilities of your application with just a few mouse clicks.

Performance Optimizations on the Server

With Q3 release ASP.NET AJAX introduces performance optimizations on the server. By deleting reflection code we have achieved up to 30% improvements depending on the scenario.

RadListView

RadListView is designed to help end-users arrange and manage various data entries in a list. It comes with numerous key features that enable you to customize the appearance and layout of the control. You can choose from predefined or customized layouts and apply a number of integrated capabilities for a wide range of data views.

RadSiteMap

Q3 release introduces the lightweight and flexible RadSiteMap for ASP.NET AJAX. End-users now have a UI component to arrange and list their web content in a hierarchy with nodes. RadSiteMap features optimized semantic rendering, resulting in minimal and clean HTML which is essential for search engine optimization. Customization is also easily implemented through the numerous layout options and templates.

Major features include:

• Semantic Rendering for minimal HTML output and improved SEO performance
• A set of flexible layouts – list or flow view, number of displayed columns, vertical or horizontal orientation
• Templates – define per-level, per-node and global templates

RadRatin

Telerik RadRating is a brand new flexible UI component that allows users to intuitively rate webpage content. You can embed the control anywhere on your page and receive visitors’ feedback through their rating. It can be easily and fully customized by configuring its orientation, rating precision, direction and skinning, etc.

Major features include:

• Versatile Orientation and Direction – horizontal/vertical orientation, right-to-left, top-to-bottom, and reversed directions 
• Defining the maximum number of items
• Selection Modes – Single/Continuous, Read-Only/Edit Modes
• Rating Precision enabling exact ranking of your web content

RadScheduler

ASP.NET AJAX RadScheduler employs several features that will surely add value to our customers.

• Description field - We have expanded the advance edit form of an appointment. It has a new description field where users can enter more detailed information about appointments.

• Context menus - In Q3 2009 RadScheduler has integrated context menus which enable prompt customization of appointments. With this shortcut users are a mouse-click away from adding, removing, editing, and categorizing events in the schedule.
  

RadGrid

ASP.NET AJAX RadGrid ships with a few additions to its feature set.

• Attachment column – One of the new functionalities of RadGrid is an attachment column which provides an easy way to quickly download/upload files stored in binary format in your database.
  

• Auto-generate hierarchy – RadGrid now has the ability to auto-generate hierarchy from multi-table dataset with parent/child relations set. 

• RadGrid now provides built-in export buttons so that you can export the data to Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Word, CSV, PDF formats with a simple mouse click.

RadDock

ASP.NET AJAX RadDock is facing improved and more reliable rendering for all scenarios:

• It offers support for rounded corners which is implemented in all skins.
• Resizing - The dock resizing is improved by integrating right, left, bottom and corners resize functionality.
• Improved loading time on the client and reduced JavaScript required by RadDock on the client for setting size, resizing, etc. allowing for faster and better performance.
• The new rendering applies several fixes to problems, like overlapping commands when one or more docks are on top of another.

RadEditor

The year’s last release marks a very important improvement of the popular RadEditor for ASP.NET AJAX. The Q3 2009 version of the control includes innovative new features and upgrades to offer accessibility improvements for blind and partially-sighted users. This important control update marks the introduction of the first fully accessible web editor on the market. 

RadEditor also adds new properties like Maximum Text Length and Maximum HTML Length to limit content size.

RadCaptcha

RadCaptcha for ASP.NET AJAX was officially introduced with our last release. In Q3 the control gets several modifications to enhance its functionality and appearance.

• Refresh image - The distorted image that appears can now be refreshed so that a new image is generated.
  

• Custom Character Set – The RadCaptcha allows you to easily control the character set from which the image is randomly generated. You can choose from 3 predefined sets: Letters and Numbers, only Letters, only Numbers or you can generate your own custom set.

RadDatePicker/RadDateTimePicker/RadTimePicker

The controls now expose integrated JQuery animations on month navigation and popup show/hide.

RadMenu

RadMenu now supports multi-column rendering of child items.

RadSpell

RadSpell adds a new property which allows developers to specify a custom spell check provider instead of the default one. This way they can create custom spellchecking algorithms and control the given suggestions for the misspelled words.

RadTabStrip

You can now scroll RadTabStrip when it is vertically oriented.

RadWindow

With the new Opacity Property of RadWindow the transparency of the window can be scaled up and down.
